Jose Luis Gahona and Juan Rodríguez-Villa founded darro18 arquitectos in 2001 after a successful career in Rafael Moneo’s Office in Madrid. Since 2013, Jose Luis Gahona has been the principal of darro18. As it has been from the outset, the office strives for exceptional design while providing a thorough and constant personal service.

Over the years, darro18 arquitectos has entered many large scale competitions, winning several first prizes and mentions. As a result, the office has grown with a variety of projects including retail, exclusive homes, housing blocks, and large scale urban projects. After 15 years of practice darro18 arquitectos maintains the original spirit of high quality architecture with attention to the last detail.

darro18 arquitectos establishes a strong bond with the client, providing consultation to the client’s needs and implementing all the necessary adjustments to the project. darro18 arquitectos offers project and technical management from the design phase to final construction, coordinating structural and technical engineers, landscape architects, and general contractors in order to achieve a final product of the very highest quality.

José Luis Gahona Fraga

Architect

Born in 1968 in Madrid, Spain. He received his Degree in Architecture from Cornell University in 1991 and the Paris Prize the same year. In 1994 he received his Masters in Architecture from Harvard University.
During 1993 he worked in César Portela‘s studio as an Intern architect and between 1994 and 2000 in Rafael Moneo‘s studio as a design architect. In 2000 he founded darro18 architects with Juan Rodriguez Villa (partner until 2013). He has been a design professor in the Alfonso X University between 2000 and 2007 and in San Pablo CEU University between 2007 and 2014.
